Hello all.
After starting with my EQ5 and sky-watcher 200p explorer. I think im ready for the next step up. I have watched endless videos, and read endless amounts of blogs on the HEQ5 and the EQ6 mounts. As all i want to do is astro-photography ,i need that sturdier mount to help me out.
I am willing to save bit longer for the EQ6 pro as its only a few hundred quid dearer then the HEQ5. Only thing i am caught between is most people have said that the difference between the HEQ5 and the EQ6 isn't that much and not worth the extra few hundred quid. Is there still truth behind that? as most of the posts i have managed to read and videos are a year to a few years old. And maybe improvements have been made since then?.
Next is about upgrading my optics. Still not sure if i want to keep with the newt style reflector or go down the refractor route. All though i am very keen on upgrading my 200p to the Sky watcher Quattro 250mm carbon fibre version. As i think this upgrade would be much better for imaging then my standard 200p explorer.
Anyone familiar with the quattro? would it be a huge upgrade for me from my 200p?
As for refractors i was going to look in the Vixen range .
Problem i have though is i love newtonians
,just from what they offer to how they look.
Cheers.
